OLYMPIC VILLAGE
As Los Angeles prepares to host the 2028 Olympic Games, our Olympic Village project embodies the spirit of sports as a unifying social enterprise. Designed with a co-living unit typology, this development will initially serve as housing for athletes during the Games before transitioning into long-term rental accommodations. Located adjacent to the iconic Sofi Stadium, the village seamlessly integrates residential and commercial functions, emphasizing community, sustainability, and the central role of food in bringing people together.
The project features affordable dorm-style apartments, each complemented by shared community kitchens on every floor. These kitchens, strategically positioned on the south side of the building, connect directly to terrace gardens, enabling residents to engage in sustainable food production. The design highlights food as a cornerstone of community life, with a vibrant ground-floor food market for distribution and a rooftop restaurant that celebrates culinary experiences. The building’s massing is thoughtfully crafted to foster interaction through a variety of communal spaces that promote social connection among both residents and visitors.
The architectural expression is both functional and aesthetic, featuring a curtain wall glass façade with vertical slats that mitigate harsh sunlight while enhancing energy efficiency. A striking series of grand stairs on the south façade serves as more than just a circulation element—it is a vibrant communal hub for gathering, relaxation, and interaction. By prioritizing affordability and sustainability, this Olympic Village aspires to create an enduring living environment that celebrates community, fosters social interaction, and reimagines the shared experience of food and sustainability in urban living.
